Foam does not fail dramatically. It gives up a little at a time, until the seat someone always uses sits an inch lower than the one beside it and nobody can say when that happened.
Density is what decides how long a cushion holds its shape — not how soft it feels in the showroom, which is the thing most people buy on and then regret. A low-density foam feels generous for a season and flattens; a higher grade feels firmer at first and is still supporting you years later.
So we match the foam to the person rather than to a price list: weight, where you sit, and whether the sofa is used for an hour in the evening or all day. A seat two people share and a seat nobody uses do not need the same grade, and there is no reason to pay for the same grade in both.
This is the cheapest service on the list and often the only one a sofa needs. If the fabric is sound and the frame is quiet, new foam alone can make a sofa feel new for a fraction of replacing it.
