Most jobs in 2–5 days
A sofa rarely fails all at once. It sags on one side, or creaks when someone sits down, or an arm starts to move when you lean on it — and the question is whether that is worth fixing or the start of throwing it away.
Sagging and creaking are almost always the layer under the cushion rather than the sofa itself. Webbing stretches and springs lose tension with a decade of use, and both are made to be replaced: the frame they are fixed to is usually sound. That is a repair measured in days, not a reason to buy a new sofa.
Movement at the arms or a joint that has opened up is the more serious sign, and it is the one worth asking about early. A frame caught at the cracked-joint stage can be rebuilt; a frame left until it is flexing under load generally cannot, and by then any money spent on foam and fabric is going onto something that will not hold it.
We work on sofas we did not build as readily as our own. The four layers we inspect are the same ones we build with — frame, suspension, foam and fabric — so the report you get back names which of them has gone and which are still fine.
